★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well well well.. one of my favorite bridges ? in Budapest ?? spotted. Romantic walks, bike ? traces, way to one of the best and oldest SPA ?♀️ in Europe.
Can’t wait to come here again.
But now sharing with You few of historical facts about this bridge.
Szabadság híd (Liberty Bridge) connects Buda and Pest across the River Danube.
It is the third southernmost public road bridge in Budapest, located at the southern end of the City Centre.
It was originally named Ferenc József híd (Franz Joseph Bridge).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situated in central Budapest, Szabadság híd - in English Liberty or Freedom Bridge - is the shortest and prettiest bridge over the Danube. Built at the end of the nineteenth century, a golden age for the city, its green metallic structure is visible from many parts of the Hungarian capital. Tourists staying on the Pest side take it to go the Gellert Baths or to climb the hill leading up to Liberty Statue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If the chain bridge is still closed for renovation, this is the next best bridge. Worth visiting either way for sure. Beautiful view of the Danube river.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous bridge that connects the two parts of the city. The steel construction and iconic 19th century architecture make it a beautiful postcard of Budapest. Walk on it and contemplate the stunning views around, during the day, sunset or night. There are different country flags along this bridge. How many can you count?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing location for photos if you wish to take some nice views. Or u can just visit to enjoy the architecture of the bridge. There is a walking path, another for bikers, a third for cars & the tram. We enjoyed visiting both during the day - 11 am & at night with the lights on.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my favorite bridge in Budapest. There are more than 6 bridges you can walk across between Buda and Pest aka parts of city on both sides of Danube River, second longest river in Europe. I enjoyed visiting popular sites on both sides of river and used this bridge many times. It’s beautiful and well lighted when I visited during Xmas 2021.
