1687-ben, egy évvel Buda török iga alóli felszabadítása után állították, de írásos említése először 1841. június 14-én történt. Bőle András püspök jegyezte fel 'A fára körében létező kőképek és keresztek' cím alatt: 'Az iskolák fala oldalánál a Szűz képe oszlopon.' Ez az iskola a 'Kám utcán a Philosofiai, vagyis a Bölcselkedési oskolák szomszédságában, a Papnevelő ház ellenében' volt, a tanítómester lakása és a 'nevendékek számára két tanuló iskolaterem' tartozott hozzá. Arról nincs feljegyzés mikor telepítették át a ferences templom északi fala mellé.

It was claimed in 1687, a year after the liberation of Buda from the Turkish yoke, but it was first mentioned in writing on June 14, 1841. Of this, Bishop Andrew recorded it under the title 'Stone images and crosses existing on the tree': 'On the side of the wall of the schools is the image of the Virgin on a column.' This school was located on ‘Kám Street in the neighborhood of the Philosophical, i.e. the Schools of Wisdom, opposite the House of Priesthood’, and belonged to the teacher’s apartment and the ‘two student school rooms for the laity’. There is no record of when it was relocated to the north wall of the Franciscan church.
