Legend has it that in 1729, 40 fishermen were trapped on top of an ice floe, drifting towards the center of the lake. The fishermen have vowed to escape, build a chapel on the hill. After a while, the wind turned and helped them ashore. The tale and reality are mixed up: it is likely that it was only a reconstruction, not the construction of a new chapel, as there was a chapel there for more than a hundred years. Today, fishing on Lake Balaton is banned, but Vonyarcvashegy wants to preserve the memories of fishing on Lake Balaton, nurture the legend of the 40 fishermen connected to the settlement, and as part of this accommodate the boat called Süllő II. The aim is to preserve the ship as a museum value and to illustrate the past of fishing on Lake Balaton through interactive demonstrations. After the launch of the fishing boat lying on the shore for years, it happened in Keszthely, after which it was towed to Vonyarcvashegy.
