Világháború alatt lengyel területről és német fogolytáborokból Magyarországra került s Balatonbogláron menedéket kapott néhány lengyel és több hullámban érkező, végül majd ezer francia menekült katona. Az internáltak Boglárt nem hagyhatták el , de szabad kijárásuk volt, munkát vállalhattak, sportolhattak, szórakozhattak. Több boglári család még a nyilas kormány alatt is bújtatott francia katonákat. 1992-ben emléktáblát avattak fel a búvóhelyként is szolgáló egykori kastély, - ma zeneiskola - falán. A kastélyban működő Pincetárlatban időszakonként képző- és iparművészeti kiállítások is megtekinthetők. A II. During World War II, a few Polish and several waves of Polish refugees arrived in Hungary from Polish territory and German prison camps and received refuge in Balatonboglár. The internees could not leave Boglár, but they had free access, they could take a job, play sports and have fun. Several families in Boglár hid French soldiers even under the Arrow Cross government. In 1992, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the wall of the former castle, now a music school, which also served as a hiding place. In the Cellar Exhibition in the castle you can also see fine art and applied art exhibitions from time to time.
