I paid for the 'Half-Day Alory Pampering' Glass Shoes 'program' because as a 37-week-old expectant, I was longing for more pampering. The program outlined on the website sounded wonderful, but unfortunately in reality this was not the case. Actually, instead of the promised exclusive experience, I only got a very good massage and an average pedicure manicure. I was there for the first time, no one came downstairs to greet me or at least inform me where to wait and I couldn’t find any info on it, just to change my outer shoes to slippers. When the clock struck 10:40 (my time), I went upstairs from where I heard voices filtering in, and since the voices were coming from an operator, I went to the bathroom until then. When I came out of the bathroom I met the previous client and the masseuse just called the handler, picking up the sheets, that he was coming soon. He came out, took the sheets to the bathroom, then finally came there, introduced himself, said that "there will be a massage, and then there will be a manicure and pedicure." We went into the treatment room, arranged a massage and then massaged her. The relaxing massage part was replaced with a maternity massage. It was wonderful. He’s strong enough for me, yet gentle, and I appreciated that he didn’t talk to me after I gently targeted him. At first he asked me if I was expecting a little boy or girl, and then after I answered and added a few minutes later that it was possible for me to fall asleep because I was very tired, he no longer asked or talked to me. The bathrobes and towels mentioned on the website were not offered anyway. And there were no ordinary hand towels in the bathroom, sheets were drying everywhere, and there were about 40 degrees inside because of the dryer. The nail girl was kind and open, and by then the massage was so full that I had the strength and desire to talk, so we talked through the treatment. However, the promised massage was missed in addition to the treatment. He almost creamed my feet after the pedi and really only did the manicure on my hands. The environment and the studio are otherwise cozy and tasteful. As an ex-flight attendant, I’ve been to a lot of places in the world, and since it was a very physically strenuous job, one of the most commonly used recharging methods was massage. I’ve been to a lot of studios, spas, tried a variety of massages and programs, so I have a basis for comparison. The concept, the venue, the massage itself is super, but there is room for improvement in hospitality. Good service should be the foundation, and on top of that, the way the guest feels in that 2.5-3 hours gives the experience and exclusivity. It’s worth paying attention to the details and promising less, but stick to it.
