A Sopronért-díjjal kitüntetett, Bedő Albert-díjas Hédl András (1920–2007) erdésztechnikus Sopronban született. A második világháborús katonai szolgálat és a hadifogság (1942–1946) éveit leszámítva végig szülővárosában élt. Sokoldalú ember volt: lelkesen dolgozott a soproni erdők turistaútjainak, tanösvényeinek kialakításán, az esőbeállók, az erdei tornapálya, az autóspihenő létesítésén, de még a zenei délelőttök, a Dalos-hegyi hangversenyek megszervezésében is részt vett.
Talán egy picit lehetett volna au úthoz közelebb telepíteni, vagy egy kis utat készíteni a szoborhoz!
 Dear memorial statue of András Hédl:
András Hédl (1920-2007), a winner of the Sopron Award and Albert Bedő Award winner, was born in Sopron. With the exception of World War II military service and prisoner of war (1942-1946), he lived throughout his hometown. He was a versatile man: he enthusiastically worked on hiking trails and nature trails in the forests of Sopron, on setting up rainstorms, on the forest gym, on car rides, and even in organizing music mornings and Dalos Hill concerts.
Perhaps it could have been a bit closer to the au road, or a little way to the statue!
