Very nice staing, directly on the main plaza. The rooms are very clean and comfortale, the personnel is kind and helpful. Also the breakfast was quite good.

Placing great boardgames near the bar for people to play whenever they like, and providing free tea at all times were a fantastic gesture. However, I was rather disappointed when there was no hot water one night (and no apology afterwards), or when my sister booked a massage appointment, waited for 60 minutes, but the masseuse never showed (having left earlier), and the receptionist kept telling my sister that the massage therapist would only be a minute late... For an hour... I would have expected the hotel to offer a free/heavily discounted massage, but that didn't happen...

Rooms are pretty dated but seem clean. The church bell goes off at around 6am and is so loud you'd think it's right on your balcony. Breakfast has a decent selection but no fresh fruits.

The hotel is clean and the staff is nice. The building was transformed from an old hotel from the communist era, which can be seen from the quality of the bathroom, balcony etc. However they did all the best to make it cosy. The rooms are spacious and the location is also great.

I have checked this hotel on booking.com and was looking pretty decent for my family and most importantly it was showing that they have available rooms at the moment. However, when I tried to contact the stuff to reserve a room, they were completely rude and unpleasant on the phone shouting that they have no rooms available. When I told them that on booking.com it shows that they have available rooms they just made an excuse that they got a huge group coming over! Completely unprofessional and rude stuff at least on the phone.

Somewhat ugly old renewed hotel, clean and good,but not exactly cheap. It has the perfect location within the city center!

This is a fine hotel and the best all around choice for a hotel in Kecskemet. It is large enough to be full-service, yet small enough to have excellent, personalized customer service. The location cannot be beat, and its rooms and amenities are considerably more impressive than they might appear to be on the surface. I should mention that I did not stay in the hotel myself, but that is only because I managed to rent an apartment for the one month I was in Kecskemet. I did, however, reserved rooms for sixteen colleagues for between one and four nights and-- to a person-- they spoke very highly of the hotel. First of all, you cannot beat the location. Kecskemet's downtown is small, so you will not be far away no matter where you stay. That said, the Aranyhomok is right in the middle of the main pedestrian/town hall/historic district of the city. Walk out the front door-- or any door-- and you are a few meters from somewhere of interest in Kecskemet. Second, while the hotel looks like any of the many socialist-era boxy hotels that in many ex-communist countries are near the main train station, the interior is comfortable and homey. The furniture is tasteful, the design-- at this point-- timeless, and the rooms very comfortable. The public spaces are fine, and the breakfast room, bar, and restaurant spacious and airy. Conference rooms are full of natural light with windows that open. Most important of all is that the staff is responsive, helpful, and very professional. We could not have had better partners for the events we held at the hotel. Any request we had-- even at the last minute-- was attended to quickly and cheerfully. An excellent hotel and an excellent value.
