Fenced in a secluded place, very difficult to find, very ruined castle remains.

It was not found! Getting out of the car, a wolf dog chased him. (??)

Unfortunately, it's really just a big set of ruins. With barely removable walls and windows. Hard to reach. In its present form it has no tourist value. :-(

Unfortunately, from one direction, a careless susnya we didn't feel like fighting over, from the other direction, a snarling, barking wolfhound stood in our way, so we couldn't see the ruin. Based on the pictures of the others, we haven't lost much .... : - (((

Batthyány Castle is in ruins, but its walls are still upstairs in some places. The date of construction of the castle, once with four corner towers and surrounded by moats, is unknown. So much is known that it was once also owned by the Sibrik family and the Batthyánys acquired it as a pledge in 1616 and later became their property. Within his walls, many famous guests turned around. Ferenc Rákóczi writes a letter to palatine Pál Eszterházi in 1698. During the Rákóczi War of Independence, it was first an imperial and then a Kuruc headquarters. At the beginning of the 19th century, it was owned by Count Ferenc Althan, the royal chief master. In 1813 he was also visited by Emperor Francis I and his wife. The castle became uninhabited after the death of Count Althanné in 1832 and the ruined building burned down in 1841 as a result of a lightning strike. Its ruins are still being destroyed in the absence of conservation. The maids' houses belonging to the castle still stand today. It is currently difficult to find, only the former maid's house and farm building can be seen from the road, and the remains of the two columns of the entrance gate. From here approx. 3 minutes through the sloping ruin, which is surrounded by a fence so you can just walk around. In this state, its tourist value is zero, even its immediate surroundings are neglected.

Ruins of the Battyany castle, the oldest Hungarian family. I dreamed of getting here for many years. And so it happened. Although, the entrance is prohibited here. But if you really want to, then ... And, of course, if you are not afraid of dogs ?
