About Britannica International School

Britannica is supported by Orbital Education who provide access to the latest educational thinking and innovative teaching methods from the UK, which enable us to deliver the highest quality education for our students. We are the first international school in Hungary to be fully accredited by both CIS (Council of International Schools) and COBIS (Council of British International Schools), leading organisations for British schools, and are regularly quality assured by both organisations.

Excellent teachers are at the heart of our school and positively influence the success of young minds. All our teachers are fully trained, carefully selected for their experience and excellence, dedicated to providing a premium education, preparing our students for their future success.

The British school traditions of academic rigour balanced with personalised care and support for each individual are integral to our ethos here at Britannica. Our teachers really get to know their students as individuals, adapting lessons to meet each of their needs and ensuring that they develop into happy, well-rounded, confident young people.

We pride ourselves on being a truly international school community, welcoming over 50 nationalities from the world over. We forge close relationships between students, parents and teachers, and tailor our curriculum to take full advantage of the opportunities that our vibrant multicultural community offers to collaborate, learn from each other and develop a truly global perspective.

As an inclusive international school, our academic excellence makes us incredibly proud. Our students consistently make better progress in their subjects than the global average - a remarkable achievement given that many of our students are non-native English speakers. Our examination results are outstanding. 43% of our IGCSE results, and 63% of our A Levels, are at the top A* and A grades, with a 100% pass rate at both, well over the global averages. When they leave us at the end of Sixth Form, all of our graduates continue their studies in their first choice universities around the world.

Our co-curricular provision is equally strong, and we encourage our students to try new activities to enhance and broaden their skills and knowledge, be it in sports, chess, choir, robotics, languages, debating or through the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Our House system adds to the overall British school experience, fostering a sense of team spirit and unity, with older students leading their younger peers in a series of House challenges that everyone, including teachers, gets actively involved in.

this school doesnt teach students properly, they dont even use textbooks. Too much focus on things like uniform and absents in school rather than on studies. There is also discrimination coming from teachers becaus ethey have their favorite students and doesnt pay much attention to others. Also there is a visible dividion between abilities of students , if a student isnt very good at the subject he or she automatically go to "stupid " group which can lower motivation to even study.

We really liked the school, but had to change - the cost was high. Teachers and leadership at the height. But there are a lot of unnecessary employees (there are 2 people at the reception, although you can leave one, in some classes, two class teachers, a doctor and a nurse - although you can only have a doctor, many guards). If you reduce the costs of these employees and the cost of training will decrease. It would be so - with pleasure they returned again to this school. I know two more families who are constrained by payment. Thanks to all the teachers. You are very competent and passionate about your work.

I completed by IGCSEs at Britannica back in the day and it has been such fun to return recently and see just how far the school has come! There are still some familiar faces amongst the staff, which I think is a true strength of the school, and despite growing considerably since my student days, the family atmosphere is still there. #ProudAlumni

I love this school but, full disclosure, I am the head of the secondary school. We are a lovely family sized school with a real passion for education. I can honestly tell you that we try to put children at the heart of every decision we make. Don't take my word for it though, come and see us when you can, I think most parents and children will love us!

Brtitannca International School Budapest - is a huge RESEARCH!!! If you want quality education for your children, you definitely don't need to go to this school. Intensive use of gadgets, lack of quality programs. Traditional textbooks, diaries - all canceled. The heads of the school are dishonest people. The school fees have been increased this year, for the purpose of repair and reconstruction of the school - there was no repair or reconstruction. There are only 4-5 good teachers, the rest are weak. Children do not actually know the subjects. Also, children's things are stolen at the school - a new school jacket was stolen, and the leaders said they could not help. There are a huge number of specialists in the school who are not busy with anything concrete, but receive their salaries (from your money). Often crazy teachers torching children and parents if a child forgot to wear a school tie or gadget did not take to class. If the shoes, the child will seem athletic to the teacher, and school pants he will count as jeans, you will be forced to buy new shoes and new pants. The school cafeteria has poor quality food (children are fed 1000 forints a day). And even this food is dangerous for the children, my child has received severe severe poisoning from the school sandwich made of breaded chicken. The school is in the hands of a handful of people whose goal is to pull money out of you and not care about children really, but only in words.

The school "Britannica" does not meet its private school status. It lost her level, which it gave in previous years. Behind the high price is low educational status. There are some teachers who are good, but they will leave school, as many teachers who moved to other private schools in Budapest last year. The cost of training was raised, the school administration said that the building will be built and improved. For a year now, nothing has been built or improved (see photo). Do you want your children to study in such an "elite" private school, and your money be used for unknown purposes? Food in the school cafeteria was often dangerous to the health of my child. I do not recommend the Britannica school - ANYONE.
