They were very accommodating focusing on the sites we wanted to spend more time on, extremely knowledgeable about their city and its history, and very personable. The tour was well paced, informative, and we saw all the highlights of Budapest in a day. We also enjoyed wonderful food. Budapest locals is a well-run company. They were responsive in corresponding with me, answering my questions and setting everything up. While in Budapest, even after the tour, they were available to us for questions and available for general help. They are not only tour guides but really great ambassadors for their city. We are frequent travelers and book private tours and this was the best personalized tour we have taken in any city. We are highly recommend them. They are really a five star company.

We felt like we were touring with a friend, showing us all her favorite places while tailoring the tour to our preferences. History, culture, friendly locals welcoming you, this tour has it all. And OHHHHH the food! So much delicious food! By the end of the tour we could not eat another bite, but no worries, Barbie simply packed it up for us to take back to the boat. We had Fanny as our guide and she went over and above to make sure we saw all we could and was very knowledgeable in answering our many questions. I'd highly recommend booking a tour with these guys.

We have visited Rome, Paris, London, Prague, Vienna, and now Budapest and I have to say that Detti is the best tour guide we ever had. Working with Anita was a breeze. She patiently answered all my questions regarding times, prices, pick up location, etc.. When we couldn't make the original time on Friday due to delays in our travel, Anita immediately booked and confirmed us the next morning with Detti without any problem. And Detti promptly showed up at our hotel 10 minutes early. We were a group of four with my wife and two teenager sons and we all had a wonderful time with Detti and enjoyed her company very much. She was very knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable and yet informative with her own unique ways. Detti was very gracious in answering any questions we had - from train tickets, restaurants, money exchange - and patiently taking our pictures, etc.. The entire tour exceeded our expectations. Definitely would recommend Budapest Locals to all our friends and families.

Not only did we get to experience a variety of Hungarian food but our guide Barbi was extremely interesting and Informative, we could ask her anything ( about Budapest) Extremely good value for money We did the tour on our first morning which meant we had the benefit of Barbi’s recommendations for the rest of the weekend. Would not do it an other way now.

It was great to have a private tour for our small group of 5. Afterwards, Bridget explained about the public transport system and advised what ticket to buy so we could get to the market before closure. Thank you for the coffee stop and delicious Hungarian cake!

She was able to make it interesting and fun for our entire group...three kids, two seniors, and two adults....not an easy task with such a wide age range. They were able to accommodate us on short notice and we are so glad it worked out. One of the highlights of our time in Budapest. Highly recommend!
