★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Birinci Dünya Savaşı'nda, Osmanlı sınırları dışında savaştığımız tek cephe Galiçya Cephesi'dir. Çanakkale Kara Savaşlarının, İngiliz ve Fransızların bir gecede çekilmeleri üzerine sona ermesiyle, buradaki 70 bin Mehmetçik arasından seçilen en gösterişli ve savaş tecrübesi en yüksek 33 bin ana kuzusu; dönemin Erkan-ı Harbiyesi tarafından Almanya ve Avusturya-Macaristan ile birlikte Ruslara karşı savaşmak üzere bu cepheye gönderilmiştir. Kolordumuz buradaki çarpışmalarda bir yıl boyunca 15 bin civarında şehit vermiştir. Çok büyük bir kısmının mezarları dahi belli değildir. Burada Osmanlı coğrafyasının değişik bölgelerinden 500 civarında şehidimiz yatmaktadır. Kim bilir geride ne kadar çok bekleyenleri ve ne acıklı hikayeleri vardı. Bu fedakar yiğitleri şükran ve minnetle anıyor, Rabbim'den rahmet diliyorum. Ruhları şad olsun..!
In the First World War, the only front that we fought outside the Ottoman borders was the Galician Front. With the expiration of the Çanakkale Land Wars, the British and French nights, the 33,000 main lambs, the most spectacular and battle-experienced, were chosen from among 70,000 of them. It was sent to this front to fight against the Russians with Germany and Austria-Hungary. Our Corps has killed around 15 thousand in the collisions. The graves of a very large part are not even known. Here, around 500 of the various regions of the Ottoman geography lies. Who knows how many leftovers and how pathetic stories were.
