I can't speak highly enough of the experience of this restaurant. The food was excellent. The wine pairings were wonderful. And the staff was attentive, thoughtful and highly informative. We received a tour of Tokaj wine and the Furmint grape along with our 4 course meal. I would become a regular if budget allowed.

Fabulous experience overall with great food and excellent service. If you want to go here, then you will need to book in advance. We were in Budapest for only 4 days and were very lucky to book this place on the Friday night when we arrived. We had the tasting menu, but without the wines which are paired with each course. We didn't think we would make it back to our hotel ?

We came to this lovely restaurant to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and was not disappointed! It was a memorable evening, meal, and service. Truly one of the best meals I have ever had, and the staff were very friendly and professional. The mixture of tastes demonstrated sophistication and talent. From the pre-appetizer extra courses, to the heirloom tomato soup, fish soup, venison, fine selection of cheeses, and a wonderfully balanced and enjoyable dessert - we were amazed at every turn and slowly consumed the delicate and intricate flavors with our eyes closed and our senses delighted. The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The wine pairings were perfect - complementing the dishes well and highlighting their flavors. The sommelier knew her subject well and answered our questions about each wine thoroughly. I have read some of the negative reviews. This is definitely not a place to be in a rush. We savored every course and enjoyed every savory and delicious bite. If you are looking for a quick meal, or to be in a rush - then move on to many of the other great restaurants in Budapest. If, however, you are interested in spending a nice evening enjoying great food with professional, friendly staff - then I highly recommend you try this restaurant.

Taste was okay and dish presentation was not surprising me as you can see my pictures (especially the main dish was messy) which was disappointing me. However less than €30 for the appetizer, main and desert at 1 star Michelin is reasonable price.

Ok, this is the first (relatively) expensive restaurant in Budapest I'm planning to come back to. Even if we didn't eat very much, but being an experienced restaurant goer I have a very good anticipation from this first visit. Service is more than good, the sommelier is genuinely enthusiastic, good is crafted decorated and served with intellect, pain and creativity. Next time I'll come hungry

Our first Michelin star experience, and it didn't disappointed! Besides having impeccable service and beautifully presented food, their 7 course degustation menu offered 2 choices for each course, which meant we had 14 different dishes to taste! Not to mention the appetisers, the crispy salmon cone being one of my favourites during our meal. We also chose the wine pairing option with our meal. Each glass was served generously and were all local Hungarian wines that were paired very well with the dishes. All in all a great experience!

Holder of a well-deserved Michelin star, Costes is a innovative and exciting place to eat. The attention to detail was fantastic, from the sommelier’s knowledgeable wine insights to the creative menu. The food did not disappoint: the pigeon was perfect and the venison superb. It’s expensive of course (this was our combined Christmas present in one evening), but for a special one-off (or if you’re luckier than us and money is no object) I’d recommend it anytime.

Authentic Hungarian food for sure. Friendly, welcoming and a super tasty meal. The pancakes with jam were awesome. ?
