★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A kivitelezés 1889 májusában kezdődött és négy hónappal később, augusztusban készen állt az épület. A templom 21 x 8,3 m külső, és 7,7 x 18,9 m belső mérettel épült fel. Az udvarból nyíló főbejárattal szemben, a templomhajó nyugati végéhez épült fel az oltár.
A négy dór oszlopos klasszicista, timpanonnal záródó oltár közepére helyezték el Haranghy Jenő sötéttónusú oltárképét. A szájhagyomány szerint a művész az adományozó Nagy Józsefet festette az oltárképre (Jézus ként), és a két mellékalak, az angyalkák arca pedig Nagy József leányainak arcvonásait őrzik.
A debreceni evangélikusok első templomát 1889. szeptember 1-jén szentelték fel.
Construction began in May 1889 and, four months later, in August, the building was completed. The church was built with an external size of 21 x 8.3 m and an internal size of 7.7 x 18.9 m. Opposite the main entrance from the courtyard, an altar was built at the western end of the nave.
The dark-toned altarpiece of Jenő Haranghy was placed in the middle of the four Doric columnic classicist altars ending in a tympanum. According to oral tradition, the artist painted the donor Joseph the Great on the altarpiece (as Jesus), and the faces of the two side figures, the angels, preserve the facial features of the daughters of Joseph the Great.
The first church of the Lutherans of Debrecen was consecrated on September 1, 1889.
