A Keleti pályaudvar után a második legforgalmasabb budapesti vasútállomás. A hivatásforgalom egész évben jelentős, az üdülőforgalom pedig leginkább nyáron okoz rendkívüli forgalmat. Felvételi épülete hatalmas üvegfelületeivel és egyedi megoldásaival a 20. századi Magyarország építészetének egyik jelentős és Európa-szerte elismert terméke, és eltérően a többi budapesti fejpályaudvartól, modern stílusú. The Southern Railway Station is one of the four most important railway stations of Budapest, next to the Keleti Railway Station, the Western Railway Station and the Kelenföld Railway Station. It is the second busiest railway station in Budapest after Keleti Railway Station. Occupational turnover is significant throughout the year, and holiday traffic generates the most in summer. With its enormous glass surfaces and unique designs, the reception building is one of the most significant and European-recognized products of 20th-century Hungarian architecture and, unlike other Budapest main stations, is modern in style.
S	Sándor Nagy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nincs túl jó állapotban. Van pénztár, vannak jegyautomaták, ezek most lettek vadonat újakra cserélve. Van élelmiszer üzlet, minden ami kell egy pályaudvar közelében. Elvileg felújítás alatt van, ennek nem látni nyomát. Elég forgalmas pályaudvar, több gondot kellene fordítani rá. Not in very good condition. There are cash registers, there are ticket machines, these have now been replaced by brand new ones. There is a grocery store with everything you need near a train station. In principle, it is under renovation, no trace of it can be seen. Quite a busy train station, you would have to take more care of it.

M	Marcell Kovács on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kosz, szemét, különleges "vízfolyások" jellemzik a pályaudvart. Tény, hogy nem huszonegyedik századi, azonban találunk, felfedezhetünk benne némi plusz pontot. Véleményem szerint nem zsúfolt, abszolút nem találtam annak. A jegyárusnál, az automatáknál nem kellett sorban állni. Megy a három csillag. Dirt, rubbish, special "watercourses" characterize the station. In fact, it’s not the twenty-first century, however, we find, we can discover some extra points in it. In my opinion it is not crowded, I absolutely did not find it. There was no need to line up at the ticket office or the vending machines. Go for the three stars.

I arrived at this station from Vienna via Kelenfold and found myself having to carry two suitcases down the stairs...The style of the building looks really cool for a foreigner and it looks like a communist era museum, but c'mon, at least put some kind of elevator, escalator or even slopes instead of all stairs...

It’s hard to decide if they are renovating, reconstructing, unbuilding, or just letting rot it. It didn’t change much in the last three decades, just getting worse. Try not to buy food or drinks in the kiosks, if you can.
