★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr. Győry István (Debrecen, 1861. július 15. – Budapest, 1954. június 27.) magyar gyógyszerész, a kémiai tudományok kandidátusa (1953), a kertészeti technológia hazai megteremtője.
1913–1920 között a Földművelésügyi Minisztérium Kertészeti Főosztályának főelőadója volt. 1919-ben a Tanácsköztársaság idején a zöldség- és gyümölcsellátás ügyeinek vezetésével bízták meg. 1920-ban „saját kérésére” nyugdíjazták, szaktudását mellőzték.

 Dr. István Győry (Debrecen, July 15, 1861 - Budapest, June 27, 1954) is a Hungarian pharmacist, Candidate of Chemical Sciences (1953), Hungarian creator of horticultural technology.
From 1913 to 1920, he was the Chief Rapporteur of the Horticulture Department of the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1919, during the Soviet Republic, he was entrusted with the management of the supply of fruit and vegetables. In 1920, he retired “at his own request,” his expertise was disregarded.
