History The English Garden was built in 1783 by engineer Ferenc Böhm, according to the plans of Isidorus Canevale. The water of the breaking springs (Blue Spring, Najád Spring), the natural environment and the Lake Cseke favored the design of the garden. The lake was named after the owner of the Jenő mill that operated there. In 1803 Ferenc Kazinczy also visited the English garden, then in 1831 he returned again and admired the beautiful plane tree. To commemorate the visit, the Kazinczy bench was erected in 1964 on the shores of Lake Cseke. The park is located around the Czech Lake, but to some extent covers the entire city.
