A magaslat északi oldalán Bánd községre pillanthatunk le. The stone tower of the castle rises next to the southern entrance of the village of Bánd. A várból sajnos csak egy toronyrész maradt meg (látogatható), körülötte várfalakkal, illetve egy további torony alja. A sportpálya/hangulatos játszótér felől felmenve és a falu felé a Kossuth utcához leérve egy szép kört lehet tenni a "várdombra". Közvetlenül a vár alatt jelenleg nem lehet gépkocsival leparkolni, mert Lakó-pihenő övezetté minősítették, így már a település bejáratánál, a Bánd táblánál balra fordulva, a temető irányából "hátulról", vagy a kultúrház magasságában leparkolva lehetséges megközelíteni a várat. Ha valakinek több ideje van, és a "belefér a lábába", érdemes a szentgáli ős-tiszafáshoz is elkirándulni ugyaninnen, ahol a Mayer Antal kilátó is található. A kettő együtt már akár 3-4 órás tartalmasabb kikapcsolódást kínál. The castle hill is very cozy. In good weather, far to see the surroundings. If someone has more time and "fits in their feet", it is also worth a trip to the ancient yew tree in Szentgala, where the Antal Mayer lookout tower is also located. Together, the two offer up to 3-4 hours of more meaningful relaxation.

Innen csodálatos a panoráma a Bakony hegyvonulataira. We reach the ruins of Essegvár on a charming path, which is located on a limestone cliff rising above the Séd stream in the western part of the settlement. From here the panorama of the Bakony mountain ranges is wonderful.
F	F Norbert on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Könnyű megtalálni. Játszótér közelében is meg lehet állni autóval, innen kb. 500 méterre van a földúton. Könnyen járható. A dombtetőn a várrom, egy kálvária, kettős kereszt és régészeti feltárások nyomai találhatók. Régi stációk ledöntött kövei is láthatók. A kilátás nagyon szép. Egy könnyed kirándulást megér, ha erre járunk, ajánlom. Easy to find. You can also stop near the playground by car, from here it is approx. It is 500 meters down the dirt road. Easy to walk. On the hilltop are the ruins of a castle, a Calvary, a double cross and traces of archeological excavations. The demolished stones of old stations can also be seen. The view is very nice.
