Megyen, megyen az egyszeri szegényember az utcán, hát, látja ám, hogy éppen arra van egy jóféle kifőzés! Na, ez biztos nem valami puccos hely, gondolta az emberünk, hát akkor jó lesz ez nekem. Beljebb kerülve kocsmárosné aranyvirág széles jókedvében fogadja is, az ember meg ráéhezik egy jóféle rakottkrumplira! Mert ritkán jut ilyenhez. A hölgy a pultban tényleg kedves, folyamatosan árad belőle a vendégszeretet, én meg hálás vagyok ezért. Múló tanácstalanságomra azonnal rugalmasan reagál, háromféle savanyúságból összerak nekem valami adagot, a rakottkrumpli maradékát meg maradéktalanul kikaparja egy tányérba. Mondjuk, a higiénia nem akkora erénye a helynek, a hölgy a bármit megfog kis kezével rásegít a húsok porciózásánál, belenyúl a kajába, de lehet, hogy csak én vagyok finnyás. Egy még idősebb asszony lehet a konyhában, ő főz talán, néha kiáll az ajtóba bánatos arccal. Lent, a földszinten valami kutya rendetlenkedik az asztalok között, ezért inkább a galériát választom. Cheap and really good prepared

Absolute blizz - food, service, atmosphere

This place is totally insane. It looks as if it hasn't had a customer since 1859, yet each table was impeccably dressed and the waiter, whose ghostly pale skin almost glowed in the dark, greeted us as if he had been waiting for me and my girlfriend to arrive for the past 2 centuries. The pianist sat inches away from us and his slightly out of tune piano sent chills down my spine. The 19th century decor is beautiful but wouldn't be out of place in a haunted manor. I felt a little like the narrator from the Fall of the House of Usher, trying to reason with myself but irresistibly feeling contaminated by the creeping eeriness and melancholy that seemed to breathe from the walls and the macabre pianist and waiter, as if they were one with the restaurant. There's no doubt the food is definitely worth the trip and the experience is out of this world, especially if you're a fan of Poe and Bram Stoker - as he so beautifully put it: "Enter freely. Go safely, and leave something of the happiness you bring!" Couldn't think of a better phrase to describe this surreal restaurant. A must-go.

Really friendly staff and huge homey portions

Well-prepared Hungarian specialities with a twist. Excellent goose liver pate appetizer, the duck and port main courses were very well prepared. Good selection of reasonably-priced Hungarian wines. Service was unobtrusive and efficient. All in all a fine dining experience.

Fantastic home made food and even a more fantastic price. Small bar not touristic not far from Margaret island. Different HUGE menu options at midday, from 1100 to 1500 florints. Perfect!!
