The oldest civic block in Szeged - opposite the Faculty of Economics of the University of Szeged - is the Danish House on Calvary Avenue. It was built around 1820 in empire style, based on the plans of István Vedres. It is characterized by a cantilevered, cylindrical, closed corner balcony of the lion's head.
