Moderately difficult hiking trail, relatively high level difference starting from Tardos, but worth a visit, there are many nice places nearby (eg: several wild onion sites nearby)

A 850km2-es területét túlnyomórészt dachsteini mészkő, kisebb részt pedig felső triász kori dolomit alkotja. A Talajképező tényezők hatására többnyire erdő fedi, melynek nagy részét a gyönyörű bükkösei adják. Az sem elhanyagolható, hogy a hegység több, mint 300 barlangot tartalmaz.
The Gerecse Mountains are the westernmost part of the Dunazug Mountains. Its average height is 400m, and its largest peak is the 634m high Nagy-Gerecse peak. It is located west of the Pilis, at the edge of the Dunamenti areas.
Its 850km2 area is predominantly Dachstein limestone and to a lesser extent Upper Triassic dolomite. Due to the soil-forming factors, it is mostly covered with forest, much of which is provided by its beautiful beeches. Nor is it negligible that the mountains contain more than 300 caves.
