A vasút maga nemében páratlan látványosság, ahol gyermekek irányítják a vonatok közlekedését. A kisvasút vonala Széchenyihegy állomástól Hűvösvölgyig tart.

A kisvasutat kezdetektől fogva a MÁV üzemelteti.

Ezzel lesz teljes a program.
Great experience for the whole family. It is almost a must before or after a family children's ferry. This will complete the program. Parking is easy (close to pay, but 30-40 meters is free)

Open days are organized several times a year to go in and admire the "treasures". A must-have program for young children, but any railroad enthusiast can start to crunch at the smell of oil and many of the old parts that are waiting in the garage for a soldier's fate. One of the steamers serving here is waiting for a better fate, which is occasionally launched, but at the moment (May 2016) is not yet in a position to be fully on the line. Yeah and open days are free, so value for money :)

There were several vehicles in the building that we could see. I’m glad they’re preserving, refurbishing these wonderful vehicles.

Children's railway! It is fascinating to see so many children addicted to work and dutiful. As already reported by other users, the landscape is not the main attraction of this railway, as it runs through the woods. At the terminus of Széchenyhegy there is nothing interesting (except for the maneuvers to jump train cars, for those interested), while it is convenient to go down to Jánoshegy and, in about 20 minutes on foot, a bit 'uphill, reach the Belvedere di Elizabeth and enjoy a beautiful view over the city of Budapest, then descend and enjoy a Lángos in the little park before the. Belvdere. Highly recommended for train enthusiasts, while it can be a different means for the common tourist who decides to immerse themselves in the green of Budapest and join the train to an excursion or something else. I also recommend traveling on the historic steam train, which only runs on certain days of the year.

Nice tourist attraction but not essential. I go a little against the tide, perhaps extinguishing the most euphoric spirits, but I don't think the stop at the Children's Railway is exceptional or indispensable. If anything, the only valid reason to go there is that it leads to the panoramic viewpoint by getting off at the Yànos-Hegy stop (keep in mind, however, that it takes at least another 20 minutes on foot and then you have to get off with the chairlift, plus means for the return). If you have visited the city from the hill of the Buda castle you will still have seen the city with an equally very beautiful panorama, without spending 3/4 of a day on the Children's Railway just for a panoramic photo. Other features that are not really exceptional: if you want to leave by taking the cogwheel tram n.60, know that it is neither easy nor comfortable to reach. The children of the railway are obviously wonderful and cute, but they don't speak a word of English and have shown a lot of difficulty in communicating with foreign tourists. The train winds through nature but is 99% in the bush, so we honestly haven't seen breathtaking views praised by other users, beautiful woods for charity, but nothing enchanting. Lastly, the route "from" and "to" is poor in indications and we struggled a lot to get back to the city, also because of the Hungarian public transport operators, who do not chew much English. Therefore, consider such a visit well before tackling it. Maybe if you have to choose the most informative zoo or good museums for children, there are many in the center. I hope I have been of help to other travelers.

Vasúti forgalmi képzés kereteiben látogathattuk meg a Fűtőházat. Igazán maradandó és kihagyhatatlan élmény. Nem csak a vasút szerelmeseinek ajánlott. A Fűtőház nem múzeum, jelenleg is aktív munka folyik, itt újulnak a Gyermekvasút jövőbeli csodái.
We were able to visit the Heating House within the framework of railway traffic training. It is a truly lasting and unmissable experience. Not only recommended for rail lovers. The Heating House is not a museum, active work is still going on, the future wonders of the Children's Railway will be renewed here.
