I went their with good hopes as it meant to be the best hair salon in Budapest. The price was the highest I could have got for a haircut and colour and the service was the lowest. I am very disappointed. The receptionist forgot to tell my hairdresser that I have arrived so we were waiting for each other literally half an hour sitting in the same room. She was very sweet apart from she cut my hair very poorly it doesnt sit as it should be and the colour is an absolute miss. I asked for a light brown and got a yellowy blond instead. The offered champagne has never arrived and i had to chase them 3 times for a cappuccino on top of that the promised 3 hours she finished in four. Complete disaster, it has been two weeks and i look like i need a haircut urgently.

Why would i rate the place if i haven't been there! Lets start with the rude receptionist who calls you one day before your appointment to cancel. Secondly again on another occasion the receptionist lady cancelled my appointment after arriving at the salon. Finally, the hairdressers are good but the receptionist and the customer service is terrible (SUPER RUDE) and also lets not forget the sudden price change even though nothing changed and it's the same stylist! Thank you

This review is based on the fact that the hairdresser my friend and I had did not speak English. Though our stylists were kind and sweet they didn't understand what was asked even though they smiled and nodded -- seeming like they understood . I have never gone in to a salon coming out with worse hair . It just seems odd not to notify customers, who clearly don't speak Hungarian, that the hairstylists don't understand English and therefore it would not be optimal to go there -- given the more technical hairstyling terms needed to get your wishes met. Or to even set you up with someone who does understand English (if possible). Note: cash only .

I've never had a worse haircut in my life. I came with a friend and both of our hairstylists didn't appear to even know how to cut hair properly. I would have been better off cutting it myself. Horrifying experience. If you pay attention to the Google reviews down there, it's all just Hungarians rating 5 without even writing anything. This salon has a false rating. They don't speak English well enough here to understand you. Don't bother.

Wow, Barbara! :) Barbara is probably the greatest hairstylist that I have ever worked with in my entire life! Barbara gave me the best men's haircut that I have ever received! :) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BARBARA!! Thank you so much, Barbara! :) Barbara is so incredibly talented and so incredibly detail-oriented and so incredibly thoughtful. She took her time and she did an amazing job. She doesn't even speak a lot of English, but I showed her a photo of myself that I liked, and then Barbara replicated it perfectly! :) Perfect 10! :) Sadly, I don't live in Budapest, so I don't know when I will be able to return for another haircut from Barbara. I actually live in Austin, Texas (USA), and I have been traveling through Europe for 4 months this summer. As you can imagine, one of the biggest challenges when traveling to new countries is trying to find a great hairstylist when it's time for a haircut! I've had bad haircuts in the past while traveling, so it's always a bit scary when I have to choose a new hair salon in a new country. I feel so incredibly lucky that I found Barbara — just by pure luck! If I lived in Budapest, Barbara would be my regular hairstylist that I would see all the time! :)

I had a really bad experience going to this salon. The hairdresser did not listen to what I wanted at all, she did the complete opposite of what I told her I wanted. I even brought with me a picture of the color and tone that I wanted done. When the appointment was over, I told the hairdresser and the receptionist that I was not satisfied, but they did not care at all. They did not want to compensate me in any way or were willing to try to fix it. At that expensive price you would at least think they would try to fix the problem when they are doing a bad job.

I get the certain price when I reserve on the website. However, after the service, I was suddenly informed for the extra 1/3 payment which was not informed during the whole service process. I asked the reason. And I get the answer that the stylist sprayed something on my head just now for the hair. ???

Visited this salon previously only because the hairdresser I used to go to started working there. But last time the experience was so bad - I’m not returning to Hedge. So I booked an appointment like month in advance on their website, since I had plans after the haircut and it was important for me to receive the service. Few days prior to haircut received an automatic reminder email too. Came to the salon on time and it was closed. Wrote an email to Hedge and message to the hairdresser on Instagram hoping to get any explanation why I had to waste my time and no one bothered to cancel the appointment and notify me, but they all just disappeared. No explanation, no apologies, nothing. Great example on how to loose the client…
