Kicsit gondozatlan kert, az iskola alatti villa rész egy csőtörés után még mindig nincs helyreállítva. Amúgy plasztikusan látható és elképzelhető egy közel kétezer évvel ezelőtti módos család élettere! ?
Slightly neglected garden, the fork section under the school is still not restored after a pipe break. Anyway, the living space of a modest family nearly two thousand years ago can be seen and imagined plastically! ?

Visszapillanthatunk a római időkbe, (3. századból) ha kicsit hiányosan is, de megmaradt mozaik munkákra, s fellelhetők a kertben sírládák maradványai is.
We can look back to Roman times (from the 3rd century), albeit a little incompletely, but to the remains of mosaic works, and the remains of tombstones can also be found in the garden.

Kevesen látogatják. Szép római kori emlékek, mozaik részletek láthatók itt. Kertje is rendezett, nyugalmat árasztó.
Few visit. Beautiful Roman relics and mosaic details can be seen here. Its garden is also tidy and full of tranquility.

I have always heard that in Rome, wherever one goes, one always stumbles upon some ancient ruin. This is exactly what happened in Budapest. We happened to go to this and found this very interesting place. It is closed in the winter (after Nov. 1), but we were lucky. Very interesting. More could be brought out of the place, but the proximity of Aquincum is obviously confusing as well. Definitely worth a visit.

Budapest egyik legkevésbé ismert kiállítóhelye. Szép mozaikmaradványai adják a különlegességét. 2019 augusztus 1-től megnövelt nyitvatartással várja a látogatókat.
It is one of the least known exhibition venues in Budapest. Its beautiful mosaic remains make it special. As of August 1, 2019, it is open to visitors with extended opening hours.

What a pleasure has been visiting the ruins of this Roman villa! Although I did not get any explanation, the site was open (as it was supposed to be, every Sunday between 11 am and 1 pm) and a lady greeted me at the entrance. Entrance is free and you get to see three mosaics (the one depicting Hercules has been placed at the near Aquincum museum), together with the structure of the villa and some stone sarcophagi, since the site was at a later stage used as a burial place. There's a sheet explaining the history of the villa in Hungarian and in English, there are benches, a bin and a drinking fountain. The site is in a residential area, easily reachable by public transport (I got the tram number 1 and walked less than 10 minutes to it) and the atmosphere is quiet, peaceful and therefore ideal for your visit, which I absolutely recommend! It is true that the covering would benefit from a bit of restoration.

I've been trying to visit the site for the past three years but it was only available to visit with special private appointment. Speaking to the archaeologist on site today, she informed me that they've started offering Sunday visits around mid day without appointment for almost one year now. While the structures and protective buildings covering the mosaics are in serious need of repair it doesn't take away from the overall access to the ruins available there and the excellent tour in Hungarian language provided by the archaeologist gave good comprehensive information about local Roman activity in the region as well as at this particular site. It was wonderful to be able to speak to her as she was also bilingual in English. An excellent site with good explanations and an excellent site presentation. I will be back!
