A vashidat, melyet a régi műegyetemi tankönyvek is ismertek a második világháború során 1944 decemberében a visszavonuló német csapatok felrobbantották. Ezután ideiglenes fahíd épült, melynek cölöpjei a Hernád medrében ma is megtalálhatóak. A jelenlegi vasbeton híd 1949-ben készült el. A híd 80 méter hosszú, pillér nélküli. Építésén a falu lakossága is részt vett. Sajnos tragédia is történt, mert hídépítés közben, 1948. december 17-én Molnár István gibárti lakos életét vesztette, aki feleségét és két gyermekét hagyta hátra.
The two banks of the Hernád were connected by a beautiful, large-scale iron bridge built by the county in the 1800s, on which customs were collected. The iron bridge, also known from the old technical university textbooks, was blown up in December 1944 by retreating German troops during World War II. A temporary wooden bridge was then built, the piles of which can still be found in the Hernád riverbed. The current reinforced concrete bridge was completed in 1949. The bridge is 80 meters long, without a pillar. The population of the village also took part in its construction. Unfortunately, a tragedy also occurred, because during the construction of the bridge, on December 17, 1948, István Molnár, a resident of Gibárti, lost his life, leaving his wife and two children behind.
