Wall of monuments - memorial wall - Acsa A World War I memorial, a 1956 memorial and a Gulag memorial plaque can be found on the slightly curved wall on Petőfi út. (opposite the post office) On the stone-covered wall section we can see the World War I memorial. On it, on three white stone tablets, we can read 31 names engraved in gold, they are the heroes who sacrificed their lives for their homeland. Next to it is a huge stone sword as a symbol of the struggle, and above it are the years 1914-1918. The monument was inaugurated on October 23, 2016. Next to it, in the white-painted part of the memorial wall, is the 1956 monument on the wall. The work, based on the plans of Dr. János Czalbert-Halasi, a doctor and artist, symbolizes the 1956 perforated flag. We can read about the initiation in the Transdanubia Region newspaper on October 29, 2015, and we can also see a photo there. I really liked the monument and the line of wreath hangers nicely placed around it. The third commemoration is the Gulag Memorial Plaque, erected in 2017. I received a lot of valuable information about this memorial wall and the history of the old World War II memorial plaque, which is no longer visible today, from the elementary school and a retired local patriot teacher.
