★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Az 1867. évi XVII. recipiáló törvénycikk nyomán az addig egységes zsidóság két ágra szakadt: az ortodoxokra és a neológokra. MAkón 1876-ban két külön egyház közösséget szerveztek, külön zsinagógát építettek és a temetőt is elkülönítették. A meglévő temetőt a neológok kapták (itt zömmel magyar nyelvű feliratok fordulnak elő, a héber szövegűek a szétválás előtti időből származnak), közvetlen mellette jött létre az ortodox temető.  The XVII. following a receiving article of law, the hitherto unified Judaism was divided into two branches: the Orthodox and the Neologs. In 1876, two separate church communities were organized in MAkón, a separate synagogue was built, and the cemetery was separated. The existing cemetery was given to the neologists (mostly Hungarian inscriptions occur here, the Hebrew ones date from the time before the separation), and the Orthodox cemetery was established right next to it.
