★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Kálvin Jánost ábrázoló bronz szobrot a Magyar Reformátusok Világszövetsége 4. világtalálkozója alkalmából avatták 2000. június 30-án. A főváros egyik legrégibb református templomával szemben áll, kezében a Bibliát tartja. Nem értem, miért kapott a szobor ilyen rossz értékeléseket! Szerintem nagyon jól megformált alkotás, és a mai rohanó életfotmánk mellett szép üzenete van annak, hogy a forgalmas és zajos Kálvin térnek háttal állva a templom felé fordul Kálvin alakja: Megáll és tekintetét a templomra szegezi határozott arccal.
The bronze statue depicting John Calvin was opened on the occasion of the 4th World Meeting of the Hungarian Reformed Association on June 30, 2000. It is opposite one of the oldest reformed churches in the capital, holding the Bible in hand. I do not understand why the sculpture received such bad ratings! I think it is a very well-formed work and, in addition to our rushing life story today, has a nice message that the busy and noisy Calvin Square is turning back to the temple to see Calvin's shape: Stop and gaze at the temple with a firm face.
