The youngest in the line of small railways in Somogy county is the forest railway and small railway operating in the largest continuous forest block of Inner Somogy, the Kaszó forest. The entire length of the railway line runs through a forest through a wonderful landscape. The diverse forest stands, the nature conservation area of ​​Lake Baláta, with its diverse wildlife provide an unforgettable experience for hikers.

The small forest railway follows a nice route, it was about 45 minutes in one direction. The website did not indicate that a flight had been canceled on a given day (period?), This was only revealed on the spot. The ticket office was operated by the railroaders, who were helpful railroaders and weak cashiers (they arrived 10-15 minutes later after the marked opening time, we challenged not asking for a return ticket). It must have been more beautiful stations.

If I could I would give it 0 stars. It was an expensive 1 hour rumble at the edge of the woods where I didn’t really see anything worth photographing. According to the lady working there, it's for the kids, we didn't enjoy it, but two little kids next to us slept all the way ... I think it says a lot. It’s pretty outrageous that the train didn’t even go to the lake, we just stopped at a random place and backed down the same route. Let's not even talk about the fact that almost 0 information was posted, both on the website and on the site .... Bloody !! I will never recommend it to anyone !!!

Almost everything is available here for a good little all-day family program. There is a children's playground, rest and fireplaces, washbasin and toilet. Although the small train can only take you (and back) to the Baláta-tó stop a few kilometers away, the main attraction here may not be the main railway, but the family-friendly holiday complex created around it! While we were there, several groups of friends and families, large and large, spent many Saturdays with the children on and near the light rail. The small locomotive called Christmas, which is under color but has been taken out of service, is probably a railway history fantasy, but unfortunately in very poor condition. Still worth a look! Nearby is the famous Canopy Educational Trail and of course the forest with a special atmosphere. I missed the sign for the hiking trails (not the bike, but the pedestrian). The bike paths are nicely marked and can be followed on both online and offline maps, but as a hiker there is no easy task for the visitor, as there are no designated hiking trails. They could be! Although it is easy to find your way around the road network, a sign prohibiting all kinds of access (including pedestrians) can come as a surprise ... referring to an environmental area. So you have to be prepared for it ...

A great place to hike. We had a good leader. It was a good trip. They are open at 9:30. At 9:34, neither 20 nor 10 thousand could return. There is no terminal / I think it is obligatory next to the cash register / so we could not pay with a card either.
