These German shepherds performed guard and protection duties at a nearby military radio station. When I served here as a line-up here in 90, there were dogs named Maci, Kelly, Gizi, Boby on duty. Nice memories...

Going on the tourist trail of the Keszthely Mountains, on the green sign between Vállus and Gyenesdiás, there is a dog cemetery, where you can find a nearby dog, serving for the fallen dogs serving on the air defense base. For a long time the place was unknown, hikers recently found it. The earliest name is Major Vulcan, who lived from 1973 to 1976. The final resting place for 12 dogs is this place. Next to it is an information board and table with benches.

Anyone whose dog has already perished and, for lack of a better one, has been forced to hand over his corpse to a lawnmower can truly experience what it means to find a resting place worthy of his former faithful companion. It is a touching and respectable initiative, especially since it is not simply about pets, but about professional and, in most cases, military-like comrades-in-arms. In 2009 we visited here for the first time with my five-year-old hiking companion during a multi-day geocache search and crossing the Keszthely Mountains. The cemetery was very neglected at the time, but the inscriptions were more legible (maybe it's okay to attach some pictures at the time *). Now it’s nice, tidy, but the captions are more shabby. I dragged the placemark to the correct point on the map, I hope it is accepted by the map editors. And, of course, the name of the place (settlement) is also wrong, as Tüskevár is a long way from here (under Somló in Veszprém county), and this Dog Cemetery is in the administrative area of ​​Vállus.
