Alles schön sauber und preiswert! Good wines and beers! Close to the technical UNI. There is no warm menu, but sandwiches do. Large selection of different wine regions + draft beer. Everything nice and clean and inexpensive!
D	Dorozsmai Endre on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A KisPrésház elődje legjobb emlékezetem szerint az egyik „Á Table” volt, úgy tűnik, hogy a működtetők ki akartak lépni a láncból, mert egyébként a profil nagyjából megmaradt, igényes sütik, jóféle italok. Mi három sütit is ettünk itt, egy citromos tarte-ot (890 forint), egy csokitortát (790) és egy mille feuille-t (990), tisztes, 4,5 pontos sütik voltak ezek, a tarte-ra az ötös is megszavazom. Tetszett az új irodalmi kávéházas dizájn is. Jómagam ittam egy minőségi kézműves sört is (900), társam egy teát ivott (520). Kifejezetten jó élmény volt, még jobb lett volna, ha nem az „Á Table” helyett, hanem mellett nyitotta volna meg kapuit, de így is sokkal jobb, mintha mondjuk egy bankfiók nyílt volna a jó kis francia pékség helyén. The predecessor of KisPrésház was, to my best recollection, one of the “Á Table”, it seems that the operators wanted to step out of the chain, because otherwise the profile was pretty much left, demanding cookies, good drinks. We also ate three cookies here, a lemon tarte (890 forints), a chocolate cake (790) and a mille feuille (990), these were decent 4.5 point cookies, I also vote for the five on the tarte . I also liked the new literary coffee house design. I also drank a quality craft beer myself (900), my partner drank a tea (520). It was an exceptionally good experience, it would have been even better if it had opened its doors not instead of “Á Table” but next door, but still much better than, say, a bank branch in the place of a good little French bakery.

It seems that this café is somehow owned or supported by the editing house Prae, most items on the menu are themed on their books of contemporary Hungarian authors and the wines come from the region where the editing house is based. The name is a wordplay itself. All in all, I guess it was one of my nicest experiences on Bartók Béla út. Their next door neighbour, Gross Arnold Café is also a gem, with pictures and postcards of a 20th century Hungarian graphic designer. I highly recommend both.

The coffee, however, was quite frankly unacceptable, possibly the worst we have had in Budapest in the past couple of years. I am generally not a picky person and I would have tolerated this if the place was not called "kávéház". We called in for a coffee after having lunch somewhere else, hoping for better quality coffee than what would have been available in the restaurant we came from, but were sadly disappointed. We took a sip, paid and left. Maybe I will return to try something else, but I would advise everyone to steer well clear of the coffee.
