It is a really cozy place in the middle of the forest. It has wellness, restaurant and a wonderful environment. Watch out, there's no internet/mobile service near it!

Everything was perfect. Very nice and cosy place. Food was delicious. They accept cards and euros. Waiters with fluently English. Thumbs up. We will definitely come back.

No gsm signal over the area

Big disappointment. Hotel is in an area with no cell phone coverage so at the reception I was told to use the phone in my room if I need to talk to anyone. And of course you won't have any internet. My room was a tiny super hot little hole right under the roof, and of course the phone didn't work at all. There is a small wellness area, it is all right, but it closes at 8 PM, and the last order possible for dinner is at 19:30, so you won't have much activities left for the evening. I ordered one of the most expensive dishes on the dinner menu and I was served some stinky and tasteless meat with a similarly tasteless side that made me wish I was a vegetarian. I told them that the food was inedible, the moody waiter said "OK" and took it away but I was charged regardless. The lobby is decorated with the african endangered game hunting achievements of Hungarian nobility of the last century which is of course totally tone deaf in this age. The motto of the hotel is "here is where the quiet starts" but the quiet ends at 7 AM when the other guests start waking up and showering as room sound proofing is nonexistent. Breakfast is at 8, on the potentially tranquil forest veranda, however the bored juvenile staff is oblivious to the concept and decides to play loud hip hop through the speaker system. Checkout is already at 10. There is apparently a castle next door but it is closed to visitors.

Love this place. We took the mini train from Pálháza which was about an hour long. Kőkapu itself is a sanctuary from modern technology as you won't get a signal here for your mobile phone. Just pure old fashioned fresh air and woodland walks. Beautiful setting for a relaxed lunch after a long walk.

Perfect place if you seek rest, silence and full isolation from the online world. No mobile network, no WiFi, but kind service and a beautiful landscape that compensate for everything. The food is also great. Unfortunately the castle itself was closed and requires some maintenance but the whole place has a great atmosphere. You can enjoy the forest, the lake, play bowling or just relax in the wellness section. Absolutely recommended.

Came by train, booked a table for 10, which was nicely set. There was a menu in Slovak and English, which is great,but they had a special offer as well,which wasn't included in the menu thus explained only orally. The food itself was disappointing, the duck was not well-cooked, but the combination with langos was interesting. If you come with kids,they have lots of space to play, also you can go paddling on the lake but you have to ask at the reception for the paddles (400ft per half an hour). It could have been noted somewhere at the docking area. Overall, the area is nice,I didn't mind the non-existent reception, but don't expect high cuisine there.

Excellent place to have some time off. Lake, huge playground, old fashioned railway, creeks, hiking trails, log cabins and kind service. Food is good and portions are big. Not haute cuisine, but does the job well. No mobile network coverage, even landline connection is unreliable.
