The House of Culture was built on the site of the former Kölcsey mansion, in front of which the whole figurative statue of the poet was located. The work was composed in 1973 by László Marton for the 150th anniversary of the writing of the Hymn.

A kellemetlen meglepetés akkor ér minket, amikor helyben derül ki, hogy hétfőn nem látogatható a hely, és be sem engednek. Ez akkor kényes igazán, ha 300 km-et utazik az ember, hogy megnézze. Szomorú és méltatlan Kölcsey emlékéhez.
On their website, they announce that the Kölcsey Memorial Room will be open from Monday. The unpleasant surprise comes to us when it turns out locally that the place cannot be visited on Monday and is not even allowed in. It’s really delicate when you travel 300km to see it. Sad and unworthy of Kölcsey's memory.
