 Very beautiful and imaginative like other Kolodko creations! Due to its location, it can be easily found on the corner of the park fence.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Rózsa utca sarkán, szinte kirepül a kőfelhőből Szenes Hanna, a világháború mártírja és hőse. Itthon nincs akkor ismertsége talán, mint Izraelben, ott nemzeti hős a magyar-zsidó költőnő. Kiképezték az angolok, hogy próbálja társaival valahogy megakadályozni a magyarországi zsidók elhurcolását. Elfogták, úgy tudjuk, nagyon megkínozták, nem vallott, aztán kivégezték... de az emléke itt van, a Rózsa utcában fejet hajthatsz a miniszobor előtt.
On the corner of Rózsa Street, Hanna Szenes, a martyr and hero of World War II, almost flies out of the stone cloud. He is not known at home then, as in Israel, where the Hungarian-Jewish poet is a national hero. He was trained by the English to try to prevent the deportation of Hungarian Jews with their peers. He was captured, we know he was very tortured, he did not confess, and then he was executed ... but his memory is here, in Rózsa Street, you can bow your head in front of the miniature statue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent tribute to Hanna Szenes places here on International Women’s Day by Hosszúlépés. Járunk? and Mihály Kolodko. Really nice mini statue as usual, this one showing Szenes parachuting into Yugoslavia. Really cool idea.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Budapest this past fall. During our trip, we searched around the city for the mini-statues of Mihály Kolodko. This statue is a tribute to an incredibly brave woman, Hannah Szenes, one of Hungary’s treasures.
It is is also part of the #wonderwomenbudapest initiative which aims to rebalance the gender divide in the city’s sculptures: out of 1200 statues, only 35 depict women as a hero or role model.
