I learned about the beetle from plant protection at the university that year, I remember that the curriculum mentioned the first occurrence in Hédervár and the sculpture.

A pest beetle statue to raise is a bit of an abstract thing

In Hédervár, there is a huge statue of a potato beetle. The sculpture preserves the memory that in 1947 the Colorado beetle was first seen in Hédervár. It is not the bronze beetle that pays homage to the pest, but the plant protection against it.
