Láthatatlan Kiállítás Budapest – amikor az érzékeid vezetnek… - Lathatatlan.hu

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience. Our Guide Julija was amazing. She let us know she is partially blind and before the tour show us the braille system. She was very helpful and nice at all times during the tour. We spent an hour in the dark. The first 5 minutes where intense. Then you get used to it a little better. You experience real life situations of blind people. I loved the experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was interesting to listen about the lifes of blind people. Walk in the dark with the guide and learn about their struggle. My favorite activity was to learn how to type on the Braille typewriter)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can tell you, it was one of the best experiences I had ever.
Price is fair. The entrance is not that obvious but from the yard if u look well you will find it, its a small entrance. Then you will be in a big hall.
Usually a team including 5 people plus the guide will have the tour. I went solo. The guide was really nice and kind.
They will ask u to put ur stuffs in a closet. There will be no light inside and dont worry the guide will tell u every single object inside including steps, walls, doors and so on.
When the door opens and u go in, u will find urself in a real darkness. U can imagine every thing by touching then. There will be an apartment, crossing the street, grocery shopping, art gallery, cafe all in the darkness. U will love it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I highly recommend this exhibition if you are visiting Budapest. We went with a small group where the majority did not speak any Hungarian. You can have an English speaking guide for 500 HUF extra per person. The adult ticket costs 2100 HUF. Coming to this exhibition was one of the best decisions we have made. Our guide Juli (Julie) was more than amazing! Such a beautiful young lady inside and out with great sense of humour. She made our experience unforgettable. Before going in to the dark, she taught us about the Braille system and we could all have a go at trying to write down our names. Before going in we had to put our belongings to a locker (this includes handbags, glasses and anything that can shine a light-for instance our phones).
We were throughly explained how to walk in the dark and was told to let her know if we are having any trouble. There are several rooms in which the guide is always coming with us, talking to us, helping us and explaining to us what are the things we need to find our look out for. There is a living room, a street, a hunting house with a forest, a “museum” with sculptures and a bar at ty end where you can buy some snacks and drinks with coins (also in the dark). During our time we could ask her any questions, she did her best to answer as honestly as she could. We were in the dark for over an hour. It was such a special exhibition!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is such an interesting experience to see what blind people come across on a daily basis. You visit a few different rooms which set up as different scenarios like a livingroom, cafe, streets...ect. Mike our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny at the same time. There's lockers for your belongings as you cannot take anything in and there's also toilets on the premises. I'd highly recommend checking it out when you're in Budapest.
