My gf changed her surname, but didn't change residence permit in Poland, we waited on the boarder for 40 minutes.
And they didn't provide any details why it takes so long.
No questions was asked when we entered Croatia via Slovenia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Schengen border between Hungary and Croatia. It is a long lasting passport and ID cotrols because of that. You can wait 2 hours long. They request to all passengers to go out of the bus and border control returns documents after checking every person, one by one. That is usual procedure. Croatia is not in Schengen and Hungary is. That is a main reason of waiting. It could be difficult when you traveling by bus with children's. Pretty much annoying. Good news is that Croatia will be accept in Shenghen soon. Probably in 2023. Thus there will be no border controls and this situations anymore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were waiting for around 2 hours. Instead of working efficiently, they were smoking, eating snacks and talking among themselves. And the important thing is they don't even care if you wait for a long time, especially if you are not from European Union. There is a toilet nearby which is maintained very bad, if you prefer hygiene stay away from that toilet.
