★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The magic of live theatre... something you can miss when living abroad. Familiar musicals are really accessible (especially if you can sing tbem in the shower) and last night I went to see Jesus Christ Superstar. Brilliant, with a special shout out to the chorus, choreography, wardrobe and stage work. That kind of quality, execution, and creativity in a house tells you they know what they're doing.
Live theatre always brings back a flood of memories of my father. So thanks to all those people who pour their hearts into making new memories.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Madách Színház/Theatre is one of the many popular theatres in Budapest. Not as ornate as Vígszínház őr Opera, but still a beautiful venue where most people dress for an occasion. Only problem with the building is that Men's and Ladies washrooms are down in the basement on the left hand side of the building only. So as we were on the right of the building, a long way through the crowds of a full house at intermission. And difficult for our older guests to make their way down/up all the stairs. Second time we've seen this particular performance, "Tanulmány a Nökröl"/ "Advice about women". Thoroughly enjoyed it the first time, even more so the second time. If you visit the theatre, make sure you look up and check out the beautiful stained glass in the domed ceiling.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mary Poppins is fantastic. It is extremely well done. It even includes Mary Poppins flying with an umbrella. Live band and excellent singers. The dancers are exceptional as well. Stage set up is grand.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ went to see Les Mis, the musical itself was great but the English subtitles were delayed and out of sync 80% of the time. if it was a music i was extremely familiar with, would've made a terrible experience
