It was a nice place ... Great value that needs renovation. But, thank you very much for the village!

Fair and interesting exhibition in terms of price and attraction.

It’s a bit of a secluded spot, a little neglected, but I liked it.

Once upon a time there were several aristocratic palaces and noble mansions in Magyargencen, but unfortunately today some of them have disappeared or been rebuilt, but the three largest still present the atmosphere of the past times in their original beauty. The castle used to be a mansion built by the will of Károly Kerkapoly, Minister of Finance. The construction can be done between 1885-1891. In 1911 the mansion went to Gyula Radó. The mansion was burnt down in 1916 and rebuilt in neo-baroque style. In 1935 it became the property of Emilné Radél Cecília Széll. Her husband Emil Széll was chief justice of Vas County. The most famous member of the family branch of Veszprém County was Kálmán Széll, who was the Prime Minister of Hungary between 1899 and 1903. It was renovated in 1985. Today, the library and the local history museum and military park (22 military equipment, including the MiG-21 MF aircraft, 4025 pages, T-55 tanks, anti-aircraft guns, cannons) are located here.

I don’t know what these tanks and other military vehicles are looking for there. Neither the old owners nor the tenants of the castle had anything to do with this. Not appropriate!

Unfortunately, we had to check in in advance on the weekend, the military equipment section in the yard promised to be interesting but the castle seems pretty run-down from afar.
