To the south of Maraza, 1.5 km to the edge of the forest, at the end of the opening, is the Chapel of Mary, in front of which there is a well and a spring. The dirt road runs out of the village in a valley, flanked by lush forest on one side, and then plowed through an invitingly lush opening. At the end of the slightly rising opening is the Chapel of Mary. This stunning little building was recently renovated by the residents of Maraza for social work. The already ruined building had to be dismantled from the forest. Peter Jégli, honorary citizen of Marazsa, is the idea of ​​the renovation and his selfless donation for the realization. The top of the chapel is decorated with Zsolnay pottery, as is the well. It became famous for it, and that is why the chapel was built next to it because a miracle happened here. A blind daughter of a Croatian woman receiving her nearby vineyard washed her in the spring water and regained her sight. The miracle continues today. A small piece of jewelry is this Mary's Chapel in the woods, where believers still bring their relics bought on farewell and pilgrimage. And on September 8, the village day is also the program of the Mass held here. Whether the little girl was the seedling of a shepherd or a Croatian woman hoeing in its vineyard is still a matter to be decided. On the other hand, it is a fact that in the news of the miraculous healing, many made a pilgrimage to the source, some of whom were healed. Thus he became “noble” as a place of pilgrimage. Well, but such a sacred place is ducalized by at least one chapel. The XVIII. century, the first wood was made, and then the wood was later “replaced” with brick and stone. The top is covered with Zsolnay ceramics. I say, place a piece! The source can be approached at the Z lane sign from Maráza. As we left the last little “ragged” house, our path was accompanied by a forest on the left and a fresh narrow strip of plowing on the right. Worth to watch! Turn right at the plow to head to the chapel. It is even fortunate that a cross indicates the branch in which the corpus is reminiscent of the anorexic Jesus of Romanesque. After a small ascent, we reach the spring and then the chapel. The chapel is closed by an iron lattice door. Fortunately, the camera can be slipped between the iron bars! The source is still very popular today. Every year on September 8, Mass is held here in the middle of nowhere.
