Just as the dome of the Votive Church has an oriental motif (reminds me of a Turkish bath), so does the dome of the Mayor's Office, thanks to the domes. "The imposing building on the eastern side of Széchenyi Square was designed by Aladár Árkay, and the construction lasted from 1924 to 1926. The building was built in the Hungarian style. The stained glass windows were made by Imre Kocsis in 1984. Upstairs, opposite the access stairs, is the ceremonial hall. It is also housed in the town hall building of the downtown post office. In my opinion, Mohács' town hall "laden with oriental motifs" is one of the classic examples of self-destruction. The name of the city is a symbol of the beginning of an unfortunate era, so the use of an oriental-inspired building that evokes a 150-year occupation with millions of victims is demoralizing. Even if the building is an artistically and architecturally enduring value. For me, this architectural style here violates my sensitivity .....

Today is the Red Wine Festival in Hungary for a week in a row. Like Taiwan ’s bull market, there are a variety of street vendors who gather in the southern city of Mohatch. On the street, you can see Mohatch dressed up with very special horns and ghost faces. Indigenous people, a lot of foreigners, mainland China, South Korea, Vietnam ... so lively, New Year, so fast! HAPPY NEW YEAR .....

On our 2013 bike tour along the Danube to the Black Sea, we also cycled to Mohács, the last city on Hungarian soil. We took a little break here and changed € uro to Croatian kuna. Here is our little travel report: Then we cycled on via Szeremle to Dunafalva (in German: Donaudorf). Here we met the Danube (pictures) opposite the Danube kilometer “1465” around 12.30 p.m. Due to the absolutely bad, only gravel main route, we decided on the alternative route via Szabadsagpuzta, Sarhat to Ujmohacs. The headwind blew violently but the route was well paved. At 1.15 p.m. we ferry from Ujmohacs to Mohacs, the last major city in Hungary. In the pedestrian zone we take a little pivo and exchange € 150 for 10 070 Croatian kuna in an exchange office.

The City Hall and the Mayor's Office are located at Széchenyi tér 1 in Mohács. The building has beautiful Hungarian and Oriental architectural features. I think it's a dominant building for Mohács. If we have things to do, you can't help but look at it, such a beautiful building :) The street next to it now houses the Government Window, the Votive Church in the center and the Széchenyi School opposite the Town Hall. To the right of it is the main street, with lots of shops and a pastry shop. The Széchenyi Square, which functions as a car park on weekdays, is not far from the post office, the Busó courtyard, or even the Danube bank. Directly in front of the Mayor's Office is a beautifully arranged promenade with benches, as well as the Three Girls statue group and the national flag. The statue features the girls in Hungarian, Swabian and Sokac national costumes, thus symbolizing the friendship of the three nations :) I really like it when During the bus tour, the really clever folk dance groups, or the busos, steal the colo, oops-cup, etc ... before the Mayor's Office. There are many memories to Mohács, and so to his buildings and squares, so over the years I have collected a few pictures of them - and I'll post a couple of them now! :)
