Medicover cancelled my appointment for a simple ultrasound examination only 16 hours before the appointment. I could re-schedule a month after the original date. Are they unable to find a substitute colleague for a simple untrasound examination??

Not recommend at all. I booked for gastroscopy examination not for consultation, when I go there and finish the 'consultation' they told me if you want to do gastroscopy examination you have to pay additional 48000 HUF...so it is basically family doctor not hospital... The worst thing is if you cannot speak Hungarian they will charge additional language fee. eg. English +7500HUF. So foreigners are not equally as Hungarian unless you can speak English.

Yesterday had an appointment at 11:00. Once I arrived there I was told by the receptionist that there was delay and to come back in a hour. At 12:00 I returned and after waiting for 45 minutes, still no appointment. Receptionist told me that it within the next 15 minutes I would be seen or if not I could reschedule it for another day. At 13:00 I decided to leave and asked for a refund (I had paid upfront) and filed a complaint form. At 13:10 when I left the premises no doctor was yet to be seen. Never was I warned upfront for this delay via sms or email, and this is something that it would take a few minutes to do, nor did I receive a single apology from the reception staff for such a long wait. I had planned my day on counting with appointment at 11:00 and this 2h delay made a significant interference in my day planning. This a paid healthcare service, and as such few details as delay warning message or an apology I take for granted that they should be there. Unfortunately, this is not the situation. I used Medicover's services before and I've decided never to return there.

Had an emergency, called the hotline, no answer. Out of curiosity kept calling after public ambulance arrived and no one still answered for OVER 3 HOURS! The only reason this company survives because they force foreign students sign a contract with them. Disgusting scammers and liars. STAY AWAY!

I called Medicover on a Friday because I had quite bad chest pains and was given an appointment on Álkotás Ut on the following Tuesday with Dr. Petroczy Nátalia. I was willing to wait for 3 days for a detailed examination. The appointment was cancelled the day before with no reason. Without any real concern, I was given a new appointment for one week later. Wait 12 days with chest pains! I'm sure Dr. Petroczy is comfortable giving that advice to her regular patients and, perhaps, family but I have to take it more seriously. Not a great advert for a cardiologist.

1.NO BOOKING PLATFORM AVAILABLE IN 2022! 2. NOT RECEIVING EMERGENCY CASES! 1.In what universe a private healthcare provider in 2022 does not have a booking platform? Every time you need to book an appointment it's a cumbersome process of checking back and forth the availabilities with the agents at the call center. 2. On top of that, today I had an emergency eye infection and I had to see a doctor ASAP, yet the call center agent offered me earliest appointment options of weeks later and claimed that they cannot access emergencies. I've been paying Medicover Family insurance for 2 years now and the first time I had a real health issue, they declined to see me. Well, I'll make sure not to renew my membership next year! What's the point really - by the time I get to see a doctor I will lose my eye! I understand that doctors may be fully booked, but shouldn't a healthcare provider like this create a schedule with a buffer for their doctors so that they can receive patients that need immediate treatment? To make matters worse the call center agent told me that I can call back tomorrow to see if there is any cancelation for this week - but at the same time they cannot be bothered to call me back as soon as a slot opens! Well, surely I can keep calling you dear every hour or even holding you in the line for the whole day in the event of anyone canceling - but come on, both of us wouldn't need to go though all this if there was a booking platform available in the first place that I could be checking from time to time manually or even giving me the option as a customer to set an auto-notification trigger in such an event of cancelation.THANKS BUT NO THANKS

"In the event that the Patient does not cancel the appointment beyond the previous 2 working days for any reason (excluding a confirmed illness or other reason established by a medical expert), or wishes to cancel or change it within 2 working days, or if the Patient does not show up to the appointment, they are obliged to reimburse the cancellation fee of 20.000 HUF to MEDICOVER as a flat-rate claim" <-- this is a new directive of Medicover.

I've been visiting Medicover for years now. Basically I'm satisfied with the service. The crew is friendly, the building and the offices are nice, clean, and modern, appointments are on time. I'm also satisfied with the doctors, nures and physiotherapists. Like anywhere else, this may depend on your physical condition and your personal preferances. The only problems that I've found are with their softwares: sometimes they have problems finding your referal in the system. Also your (blood) test results may appear on your doctor's screen in a not well organized way. Doctors especially with not so good eyes may have difficulties reading your results from the screen. If you have them printed or you are well prepared then you won't have problems with these.
