A Memories of Hungary első üzletét 2011-ben nyitottuk meg a Bazilika szomszédságában. Magyarországot akartuk megmutatni, kicsit másképp, mint az megszokott. Termékkínálatunk kialakításában neves képzőművészek munkáiból válogattunk, amiket kreatív designerek alkotásaival egészítettünk ki. A kezdeti háromezer darabos skála a folyamatos termékfejlesztésnek köszönhetően mára közel tízezressé bővült.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ More expensive than the small shops but at least there's no double pricing for tourists like most of Budapest

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overpriced, mainly for the guilty & sheepish who haven't bought loved ones gifts.
I think you can get paprika in most countries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a tourist trap. Ridiculously overpriced...e.g. 2600 forints for a CHEAP refrigerator magnet. Go anywhere but here. Found many other great shops around Budapest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I choose a 2015 Tokaji bottle from the shelf. It was swapped for a far older 2008 bottle while wrapping, completely inedible by now and with a strong acetic taste. Dry wine of that age shouldn’t be in any shop.
Alas, I noticed I got cheated too late.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An expensive but an "official" shop for hungarian souvenirs. You can find other shops of theirs in the city and also at the Budapest airport.
Staff was kind, the shop is well maintained, but their pricing system with different pricing categories is confusing and useless. Prices should be printed on each and every item and customers shouldn't go look for the signs with the different categories and prices. Something that even staff couldn't find for us. Also some items had prices missing, or the items themselves without barcodes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little expensive but established at one of the prime markets in Budapest, seems justified. A great variety of thoughtful gifts ranging from colourful pencils to traditional umbrellas to hungarian paprika and flavoured teas. The ladies on the counter are pretty warm and helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overcharges tourists. Left a great memory of Budapest. 15 euros for a magnet and a card. Don’t go to this tourist trap!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Much better than many of the cheap import-item souvenir shops! Very nice selection of products referencing Hungarian culture, many items made in Hungary. A bit pricey (esp when compared to the online prices quoted on the websites of the actual artists and crafts people, but that's the case pretty much everywhere these days, I suppose). This store gives you access to lots of beautiful and original products made/designed in Hungary, including crafts chocolates, wooden painted postcards, non-tacky magnets, modern takes on embroidered matyó scarves, and Zema jewelry and Zsolnay porcelán. Recommend.
