Mész-hegyi barlangszállás - Eger

A small approx. 2.5 x 2.5 m cave dwelling, along the path leading to the Mész-hegy Beehive Stones. It does not collapse, there are no cracks in the wall. Inside there is a stone bed designed for a bed, nails in the wall for hanging tools, a bag, a jacket, a carved shelf where we can place our equipment. There is no lockable door. In the summer, the heat is pleasantly cool inside. It is a suitable little place for shelter in rain, storm or for wild campers. INFO ABOUT CAVES: Lime Hill and its surroundings were cultivated vineyards from the Middle Ages to the 1970s. The plots of land and gardens included small houses or cave dwellings carved in stone for the storage of tools, crops and as temporary accommodation for those working here. There are many similar cave dwellings on Lime Hill and the neighboring Nyerges Hill, most of which are already ruined and barely accessible.
