During the Serbo-Croatian settlements after the Rákóczi War of Independence (1703-1711), Mount Orbán was planted and animals and pigs were kept in the oak forest by acorn. From this ancient oak tree, the old SMALL OAK remained intact. The German-speaking population settled in Bátaszék at the beginning of the 18th century cleared the downy oak forests on the hills surrounding the settlement and planted vines instead. These German settlers also built the Chapel of St. Orban in 1754 to commemorate the danger of the great plague of 1738. From the eastern side of MOLYHOS OAK, a view and panorama of the whole city unfolds before us. Together with the chapel, this place also played a prominent role during the icy Danube flood of 1956. Residents fled here from the flood. In the first half of March 1956, the most horrific iceberg of all time crashed into the forests of Gemenc. to its wildlife and to all the inhabitants of the floodplain. 2200 deer, 600 deer, 800 wild boars were killed. Excluding game swept away, swallowed or not found by the price, but destroyed.
