A Nemesvidi Sarlós Boldogasszony templom nagyon tetszetős klasszicista stílusban épült az 1790 es évek legvégén, amikor az ország 100 évvel túl volt már a török pusztításán, konszolidálódott a Rákóczi szabadsáharc elbukása sokkjából és még előtte volt a nagy 1848-49-es szabadságharc lendületének. Mondhatnánk hogy ez a boldog békeidő hangulat vette rá a freskó festőt hogy friss fuvallatot és vidámságot fessen a templomi freskók képeire... De nem mondhatjuk, mert a freskók 1852-ben készültek, a szabadságharc leverése után, amikor Világos már világos volt. Vagy talán éppen, hogy a setét hangulatot próbálja a festő legalább a mise idejére mégegyszer másképp világosabbá tenni, hogy az visszanyerje eredeti jelentését. Mindenesetre a mesternek jól sikerült ezt megmutatni az akkori jelennek és a mostani utókornak. A freskókon a magyar szentek XIX. századi öltözetben pompáznak. Javaslom, ha már Nemesviden jársz Kék túra vándora, akkor térj le Nagyszakácsiban egy faluközpont ABC kitérőre és ott térj be a Nagyszakácsi Szent István király templomba, de ezt is szervezd meg jó előre kulcsilag, mert ez is Somogy egyik gyöngyszeme azt bizton állitom.

On the side of the church garden there is a monument listing the Noble Places, which I have already written about somewhere (perhaps around the Nemesvidi Town Hall): that we know from Nemesvid that the royal chefs received their lands here from their lord the king.
