★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gyönyörű. Nyíregyházán a Széchenyi utca Bessenyei tér sarkán egy gyönyörűen felújított eklektikus stílusú épületben működik a Szent György Magyar Ortodox Egyházközség. A felületes járókelők észre se veszik ezt, hiszen nincsenek égbetörő tornyai, színes üvegtáblái, rózsaablakai, csupán a kicsi kupoláján elhelyezett görögkeleti kereszt utal rendeltetésére, mégis a betérőt lenyűgözik egy gazdag ókeresztény hagyományokkal rendelkező egyház művészeti, szellemi, teológiai gyöngyszemei. Kápolnájának misztikus hatásától nehezen szabadulhat bárki, akinek módjában áll megcsodálni az évszázadokkal ezelőtt készült ikonosztáziont, a püspöki trónust, a kegytárgyakat s a kicsiny szentélyt, ahová csak kevesen léphetnek be.
Beautiful. In Nyíregyháza, on the corner of Széchenyi Street and Bessenyei Square, the Hungarian Orthodox Parish of St. George operates in a beautifully renovated eclectic style building. Superficial passers-by do not even notice this, as there are no skyscrapers, stained glass windows, rose windows, only the Greek-Oriental cross on its small dome, but the visitor is impressed by the artistic, spiritual and theological traditions of a church with rich early Christian traditions. The mystical influence of its chapel makes it difficult for anyone who has the opportunity to admire the iconostasis made centuries ago, the episcopal throne, the relics and the small shrine, which few can enter.
