★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dear reader. Living in city does not mean that you should suffer from lack of domestic grown vegetables, fruits, from organic meat or cheese. It could be cheaper, but some stuff is more expensive than in supermarkets. If you need quality food this is a great and human friendly place. Try few places and find one you like. You can even get a really fresh tatarmeat there. Good place .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Typical non-touristy grocery market with seasonal stuff from smallholders but also steady shops with meat, dairy, veg and other products. I go here a lot, it’s not the nicest market in town, but prices are good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are various kinds of shops and market sellers from the original productives to gourmet shops. Friday and Saturday are the main days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best market. You'll get the best stuff here, bacon, cheese, meat, vegetables, you name it. It closes a bit early though, and there are always queues at the best places, but it's worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been going to this market for years, great selections, but prices vary. You need to walk around to get the better deal. Excellent for grocery buying for a day or 2.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not the cleanest or cheapest place but definitely a refreshing experience after the uniform super- and hypermarkets dominating the grocery market. I tend to persuade myself that the over-the-counter meat and fish that I can buy here is fresher than the same wrapped in plastic in a supermarket, even if I cannot verify this theory. In the middle of the marketplace there are some elderly sellers selling what seems to be their home-grown fruit and vegetables (probably they are, mostly, maybe) - at least you can chat to them and listen to some persuasive arguments as to why you should buy what they are selling. There are a few sellers who sell home-made pork products (sausages, bacon, etc.), they are definitely of superior quality - you can certainly tell by the length of the queues at their stands. If you really like the flavours of Hungarian meat products, queuing for 15-20 minutes should not put you off - it is definitely worth the wait.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its small enough that it isn't overwhelming like Lehel Piac, but big enough to have a wide selection of goods. The people at the dairy shop in the back corner and the dried goods shop are especially welcoming to bringing your own containers for milk, cheese, butter, rice and beans so it's a great place to do all your shopping for the week and be environmentally friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best market in Budapest with lots of locals bringing fruits and vegetables grown in their own gardens to sell
