Öttömös Szerelem-Domb

In Csongrád-Csanád county, which is the second lowest county in the country, it is disputed where the highest point is. According to the Pentecostals, the top of a hill, supposedly significant 127.8 meters high, is to the north-west of the village. However, according to the topographic map of the 1st military survey made in 1784, the 129.8-meter-high Mount Bukor, the highest point of the county, within the administrative boundaries of Öttömös, is 4 km east-southeast. This place is marked by a geodetic lookout tower built in 1981. Of course, we could not miss climbing this, despite the ban. The rules are there, that sometimes we break them ? So the first highest point - which is actually the second - is the 127.8-meter-high elevation, called only the Love Hill by the Pentecostals. According to the descriptions, the locals call it the Hill of Love because the young people are said to come here to romanticize. On the way there, we find ourselves in the middle of a pine forest planted in sand, as a kind of surreal experience. A headstone was erected on Love Hill by the Csongrád County Nature-Friendly Association on October 23, 2004. Its initiator was Géza Számra, a local resident. Both “highest point” locations are easily accessible using the blue rectangle and the blue line tourist signs.

I'm terribly disappointed. Before visiting the place, I looked at pictures and saw a beautiful little pine forest, small wooden stairs leading up to the headboard. I thought it would be perfect for a little romantic walk. Unfortunately, the sight is awful. Empty bald hill with trees taken out. The headboard stands in the middle of nowhere .. the sight is deplorable. I can only hope that they will come up with something nicer, something more showy then .....
