★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A felirat szerint 1868-ban emelte 'Borsodmegye közönsége'. Vay Miklós a domborműt készítette, de valójában az obeliszket Anton Wasserburger kőfaragómester tervei alapján (Bécsből szállították ide) 1869 augusztus 2-án leplezték le itt az Avasi református templom kertjének bejárata mellett, ahol azóta is áll. Felújítás után ismét a régi fényében ragyog.
 According to the inscription, it was erected in 1868 by the 'public of Borsod County'. Miklós Vay made the relief, but in fact the obelisk was unveiled here on August 2, 1869, according to the plans of stonemason Anton Wasserburger (transported here from Vienna) next to the entrance to the garden of the Avas Reformed Church, where it has stood ever since. After renovation, it shines in its old light again.
