Very local with not many tourists. Owner very accommodating even showed us photos on his phone of all the dishes. We had the goulash soup and chicken paprika with dumplings. Good wholesome food at reasonable prices. Even gave us a complimentary schnapps after we paid the bill.

Dont go to this place!! I ended up here because the best and recommended restaurant Getto Gulyas was closed on that day and I wanted to try hungarian food. I gave them only 1 star because of the food but I can’t tolerate the unfriendliness and hidden fee. The food was ok not that amazing but I wasn’t complaining about it. But I was so disappointed with their service, when we asked to pay and asked nicely that we wanted to pay separated, he said I don’t know the price and the bills that came to us was without the list what we ordered (I don’t mind to pay it first and My friend pay it later to me but We wanna know how much she had to pay) and we asked nicely for the menu card to check it and he answered us with unhappy face. It turned out the price was marked up and not only 10% but more than 20%. We had the gulash soup (2990), gypsy steak (3990) and 1 water (550) in total 7530 HUF but in the bill became 10390 HUF. On the bill was written grill and chips budapest, it was their old restaurant‘s name.

We couldn't even try the food as the waitress kicked out us because we did not order enough. She was rude, unpolite in front of everybody. Incredible that they are still opened. Should close and do something else for living not facing customers

my girlfriend and i were visiting for the weekend and stumbled upon this restaurant on our first night after wondering around the ruin bars area. we arrived around 20:45 and immediately felt very welcomed by the staff, who were very attentive and helpful despite the language barrier. we were recommended the sharing platter which had a range of hungarian meats which was extremely tasty and even better value for money. we also had a bottle of wine, all for a really reasonable price. all in all a great experience, on par with our experience in the much talked about Mazel Tov. definitely visit if you’re in Budapest!

I will NEVER come back here again. After ordering 4 starters and drinks for the 4 of us, the waitress said that there was more people outside that want to have dinner and the place is not for people who want to only have starters, asking us to leave even before ordering the mains... So rude.. so disrespectful... impressive. We live in Budapest and this is the first time here I am surprised with such attitude...

Excellent with tasty food, is what I would never call this place, the goulash, that should be their specialty as a Hungarian restaurant was tasteless to say the least. Never again. Also the hot chocolate seemed to be made only of cocoa remnants.

Busy little Bistro with a great menu. Not many vegetarian options, however I highly recommend the Aubergine Steak, one of the best meals I had in Budapest. Partner had meat options, which he very much enjoyed.

We passed by looking for a traditional goulash and saw it available. We then saw a huge board with a heap of food which looked great. Went inside and ordered one with a goulash soup to share. Meal came with sausages, burger, lamb chop (I think), chips, a slaw and more. Great prices. They are cash only!
